## Frequently asked questions

### Are these lights suitable for outdoor use?

They are designed as outdoor lanterns in aluminium and glass. Check each product's details, and have your electrician confirm the fitting and bulb suit the exact location – especially fully exposed or coastal sites. See the [outdoor lighting guide](https://timbo.com.au/guides/outdoor-lighting-guide).

### How big should an outdoor wall lantern be?

A common guide is a lantern about one-quarter to one-third the height of the door it sits beside. For a standard 2040mm door that is roughly 50–70cm – which is why Timbo's 57–71.2cm wall lanterns are popular for front entries.

### Why buy lanterns as a pair?

Pairs either side of a front door, garage or gate give a balanced, symmetrical entry. Each Timbo outdoor style is available singly or as a pair (listed as 2X).
