Timbo partner directory
Every business below is a Timbo partner: an independent flooring business that sells and installs Timbo Prime grade European solid oak herringbone, chevron and pattern parquet. Contact a partner directly for samples, a measure and a quote. All currently listed partners are in Melbourne.
What a Timbo partner does for you
A Timbo partner handles your floor from start to finish. Timbo supplies the oak to the partner. The partner:
- advises on pattern, block size and finish for your rooms;
- measures the area and checks the subfloor, including moisture testing on concrete slabs;
- quotes supply and installation, with GST shown;
- orders the oak from Timbo, including a waste allowance for the pattern;
- installs, sands and finishes the floor, or coordinates trusted installers who do;
- looks after you afterwards, including any questions about the product.
Because one business is responsible for both product and installation, there's no finger-pointing between a supplier and an installer if something needs attention.
What you're buying
Timbo oak is Prime grade European oak, 18mm solid – solid timber all the way through, not a veneer over a core – so it can be sanded and refinished over its life. Herringbone comes in 710mm and 820mm block lengths, and chevron is laid as a continuous V. Prime grade has a clean, even look, so the pattern itself is the feature. Browse the full range of Timbo floorboards before you talk to a partner.
As a guide to budget, Melbourne retailers list raw solid French oak herringbone at about $94.99/m² including GST for supply only (SET Timber Supplies). Installation, preparation and finishing are extra. Your partner's quote is the price that counts.
Before you contact a partner
A little preparation gets you a faster, more accurate quote.
| Have ready | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Approximate area in m² and a floor plan or photos | Herringbone and chevron need extra allowance for cuts |
| Subfloor type (concrete slab, timber, existing tiles or boards) | Decides preparation, adhesive and whether solid parquet suits |
| Whether underfloor heating is planned | Affects product choice and installation |
| Your timing | Lead times are confirmed when the partner orders |
| Pattern you like (herringbone, chevron, pattern parquet) | Labour and waste differ by pattern |
| Preferred finish (natural, oiled, lacquered, stained) | Affects sanding, coats and cost |
Our floorboards buying guide explains each of these in plain English. Not sure between the two main patterns? Read herringbone vs chevron.
Questions to ask any flooring business
Whether you choose a Timbo partner or not, ask:
- Is the quote itemised? Material, preparation, adhesive, installation, sanding, finishing and GST should each be clear.
- How will you test the subfloor? For slabs, ask how moisture will be measured and what limit applies.
- What waste allowance have you included? Pattern floors need more than straight boards.
- Who does the installation? Their own team or subcontractors, and how much herringbone they lay.
- What happens if there's a defect? Partners must report defects in supplied stock to Timbo within 3 days of receiving it, so stock should be checked on delivery, not on installation day.
No partner near you?
Timbo partners are listed in Melbourne today, and we're appointing partners in other cities and in New Zealand. If you're in Geelong, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or anywhere else:
- Email partnerships@timbo.com.au (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm Melbourne time), or
- Email partnerships@timbo.com.au with your suburb, approximate area and timing.
We'll connect you with the nearest partner who can help. Freight from Melbourne is quoted per order, so distance alone doesn't rule out Timbo oak for your project. Local information for each city is in our locations section, starting with Melbourne.

Frequently asked questions
Why can't I buy Timbo floorboards directly?
Timbo is a trade supplier. It supplies flooring businesses, which measure, quote, supply and install for homeowners. That keeps one business responsible for the whole floor, from subfloor preparation to finish.
Are Timbo partners the same price everywhere?
No. Each partner sets its own prices, and a quote includes more than the oak: subfloor preparation, installation, sanding and finishing vary from job to job. Get a written, itemised quote.
There's no partner in my city. Can I still get Timbo flooring?
Yes, often. Email partnerships@timbo.com.au with your suburb and project, and we'll tell you whether a partner can help or connect you with the nearest one.
Can I see a Timbo sample before I commit?
Yes. Ask your partner. Partners can request free samples from Timbo for your project.
How do I become a listed partner?
If you run a flooring business in Australia or New Zealand, apply to become a Timbo partner. Listing in the directory is part of the program.
