The partner process at a glance
Becoming a Timbo partner and placing your first order takes seven steps: apply, agree terms, get samples, set up marketing, order by email, receive the goods, and use our support when you need it. Nothing in the process requires a container order or a joining fee.
| Step | What happens | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Apply | You send an application | Business details, type of work, region |
| 2. Terms | You accept the partner terms; wholesale pricing unlocks | A signed or accepted copy of the terms |
| 3. Samples | Timbo sends free samples | Delivery address, products wanted |
| 4. Marketing | You get product content and a directory listing | Your logo, address and contact details |
| 5. Order | You email a purchase order | Products, quantities, delivery details |
| 6. Dispatch | Stock is sent from Altona North or picked up | Freight quote accepted, or a pick-up appointment |
| 7. Support | Inspection, claims, technical questions | Photos and order details for any claim |
Step 1: Apply
Apply through the partner application form, by email to partnerships@timbo.com.au. The form asks for your name, business name, contact details, business type (retailer, installer, builder, developer, designer or architect), your state or New Zealand region, your website or ABN/NZBN, and a rough estimate of the m² you expect to handle each month. "Not sure yet" is a perfectly good answer to the last one. If you'd like to know what makes an application easy to assess, read become a flooring stockist.
Step 2: Accept the terms and unlock pricing
Once we've spoken, you receive the Timbo partner terms. Accepting them unlocks wholesale pricing. The main points are:
- the partnership is non-exclusive, so you can keep selling other ranges;
- payment is in full upfront unless credit terms are agreed in writing;
- orders are placed by email purchase order;
- defects must be reported within 3 days of receipt, and damage claims made within 30 days;
- orders are final except for damaged goods.
Read the summary in the partner terms and conditions before you apply, so there are no surprises. How prices themselves work is covered in trade pricing.
Step 3: Get samples
Free samples let you see the grade, colour and machining before you show a client. Request them for your showroom or for a specific project through the samples page. Partners can also ask on behalf of a client who wants to see the oak at home.
Step 4: Set up your marketing
Partners are listed in the Timbo partner directory and receive product descriptions, specifications, imagery and guides to use on their own website, social media and quotes. Homeowners who contact Timbo through the website are referred to partners. The details are on marketing support.
Step 5: Order by email purchase order
Send a purchase order to partnerships@timbo.com.au. Include:
- the products and quantities (in boxes, with the m² you're covering);
- the delivery address, or that you'll pick up;
- the requested delivery date;
- a site or receiving contact name and phone number.
Work out quantities from the measured area plus a waste allowance set by your installer. For example, a 50 m² herringbone floor with a 10% allowance needs 55 m². At about 1.4 m² per box of the 710mm herringbone, that's 39.3 boxes, so you'd order 40. Box coverage for the 820mm size is confirmed when you order. Our box calculator guide explains waste allowances in more detail.
Step 6: Dispatch or pick-up
Orders leave from the Timbo warehouse in Altona North, Melbourne. You can pick up by appointment, or we quote freight per order to anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. Lead times are confirmed when you order, because they depend on stock and destination. See delivery and lead times.
Step 7: Receive, inspect and get support
Inspect every delivery when it arrives. Count the boxes against the delivery docket, check packaging for damage, and open a sample of boxes to check the boards. If anything is wrong, email partnerships@timbo.com.au within 3 days of receipt with photos and your order details. Damage claims must be made within 30 days.
Technical questions about subfloors, moisture, adhesives or finishing go to the same address or phone number. Our guides cover the common ones, and you're welcome to ask about a specific job.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to become a Timbo partner?
It depends mainly on how quickly we can talk and you can review the terms. Applications are reviewed during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm Melbourne time, and we'll contact you to discuss your business, samples and pricing.
Can I order online or by phone?
Orders are placed by email purchase order to partnerships@timbo.com.au. Email partnerships@timbo.com.au if you want to check stock or talk through a project first, then send the PO by email so there's a written record.
What should a Timbo purchase order include?
The products and quantities, the delivery address or pick-up arrangement, the requested delivery date, and a site or receiving contact with a phone number.
When do I pay for an order?
Payment is in full upfront unless Timbo has agreed credit terms with you in writing. See the partner terms.
Can I return stock I don't use?
Completed orders are generally final and non-returnable, except where goods are damaged. Order carefully and include a sensible waste allowance rather than relying on returns.
