Floorboards in Australia and New Zealand: why European oak
Floorboards are the boards of timber that form the finished surface of a floor. In Australia, buyers usually choose between solid timber, engineered timber, and timber-look products such as hybrid and laminate. Solid floorboards are a single piece of wood through their full thickness. Timbo specialises in one of the most requested solid timbers in modern homes: Prime grade European oak.
European oak (Quercus robur and Quercus petraea) is valued for its even, honey-to-sand tone, straight grain and the way it takes oils, stains and lime-wash finishes. It is the classic timber for herringbone and chevron parquet, the patterns that have returned to Australian and New Zealand homes over the last decade.

A supplier that works through partners
Timbo doesn't run retail showrooms or installation crews, and we don't undercut the businesses we supply. When homeowners find us online, we send them to a Timbo partner. That's the core of our partner program: we supply the oak and help with marketing; partners sell, install and keep the customer.
